And there you were
Sitting
Waiting
Watching
Do you hear the rain?
It’s pouring down out there
My shirt wet
Like a washer with no spin cycle
Still
I went
Peddled
Pushed
Throttled
Toward
You
Falling
For the unknown
I knew then…
Your,
Smile
And
Energy,
Captured me
Are you hungry?
You asked
Yes
I replied.
Two margs
Deep talks
An ice cream
A kiss
A car ride
An offer
A second date,
a third,
a fourth,
a fifth —
and somewhere between
the rain
and your laugh,
I stopped counting.
